A person was killed at Amsterdam’s international airport after being sucked into a running engine turbine of an airplane, according to officials.

ABC 6 reported that the death was accident was announced by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines on May 29, stating that someone “ended up in a running aircraft engine” of a plane that was at Amserdam’s Schiphol Airport.

“A fatal incident took place at Schiphol today during which a person ended up in a running aircraft engine,” read the KLM statement. “Sadly, this person has died. The flight concerned was KL1341 bound for Billund. We are currently taking care of the passengers and employees who witnessed the incident at Schiphol.”

No other information was released about the identity of the person, including whether they were a passenger or employee of the airport or airline.

According to CBS News, Dutch border police, who handle security for the airport, had the passengers removed from the plane in order to begin their investigation.
