Oyster House Opens First Airport Outpost at Philadelphia International Airport
Doors are now open for the much-anticipated, first-ever airport outpost of Oyster House, a Philadelphia seafood institution. This prominent local restaurant, part of PHL Food & Shops’ expanding portfolio of “Founded in Philly” merchants, is now proudly serving passengers in PHL’s B/C Connector.
Founded in Philly is MarketPlace PHL’s ongoing initiative to curate and cultivate shops, restaurants and products that originated in the City of Philadelphia. Oyster House is brought to PHL in collaboration with Jackmont Hospitality and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) partner Brenda Branch, Managing Member at High Places Concessions.
Happy as a Clam: Oyster House Docks at PHL
Oyster House owner and third-generation restaurateur Sam Mink, who continues to lead the family legacy behind one of Philadelphia’s most prestigious seafood dynasties, brought the beloved brand’s latest location to PHL.
The cornerstone eatery is already serving up its signature fresh oysters, lobster rolls and traditional seafood with Oyster House’s distinct Northeastern flavors and no-frills approach to high-quality marine cuisine.
Oyster House at PHL borrows many signature dishes from the traditional menu of its flagship location that made the restaurant a Center City institution among foodies since the Minks first began the enterprise decades ago.
“The great news continues for PHL's dining options with the opening of another Philadelphia favorite — Oyster House — and it is just in time to welcome local Philly travelers, FIFA Club World Cup attendees and all the July 4th festival visitors,” said Kate Sullivan, Chief Commercial Officer for the Department of Aviation. “Congratulations to MarketPlace PHL for expanding the Founded in Philly program with another best in class eatery.”
“Oyster House is a Philly original, and its presence at PHL offers the traveling public a chance to experience our city’s vibrant and storied food scene,” said Mel Hannah, Vice President and General Manager of MarketPlace PHL. “We’re proud to continue showcasing local brands that represent the spirit and creativity of Philadelphia.”
