MSB Ressources Globales Continues Growth Plans With Move Into Additional Montreal Facility

Jan. 8, 2020

MSB Ressources Globales the Montreal-headquartered engineering recruitment and work package contracting business has moved into an additional facility located at the Montreal Technoparc area, situated adjacent to Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. The engineering company, which is part of the international Sogeclair Aerospace group, has taken on the extra space in response to growing demand for its services from an expanding client base.

MSB Ressources Globales supports OEMs, maintenance, refurbishment and completion centers by providing a wide range of specialized and general aerospace engineering services. The new 11,000 square foot building has increased capacity for production of business aviation interior components. Some 90 engineers have joined the workforce to support the growth bringing the total number of professionals working with MSB in North America to some 400 including precision engineers, designers and stress experts. The new office complements existing MSB RG sites in California, Indiana, Savannah and Washington.

An increase in the amount of components produced and supplied by MSB RG for the Bombardier Global family of aircraft has contributed to the uptick in production and necessitated an expanded footprint. “We have moved into our new offices to be closer to our principle customer here in Montreal. The aircraft are completed within a few miles of our new facility, so it is a major advantage to be in such close proximity. It makes communications much easier and improves operational efficiency to be near to their plant,” says Othmane Smires, senior director operations and sales for MSB RG.

A new R&D facility has also opened at the Longueuil, Montreal facility with a team of 25 engineers and technicians focused on developing new products, mechanisms and components to expand the MSB portfolio to further enhance the passenger and crew experience in business aircraft. New products launched this year include a retractable hand spray for the aircraft bathroom, a more durable draw slide mechanism for galleys, and a stylish but discrete tablet holder that folds into the cabin credenza. Each has been designed in response to customer and market needs and reflects the strong understanding MSB RG has of the business aviation interior landscape. “We recognise and understand our customer’s problems and often provide innovative ideas to help them add value to their aircraft. Our drawer-sliders for example function better than existing solutions and remove 20Ibs of weight from the cabin. That’s the kind of product that business aircraft manufacturers like to install,” says Smires.
