Passenger Flees Flight on Emergency Slide in Washington
A passenger ripped open a plane door and tried to make a break for it Saturday at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, zipping down the aircraft’s emergency slide before getting arrested, airport officials said.
The passenger on a Frontier Airlines flight from Denver cracked open the door and went for a slide shortly before noon, according to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.
Sources told WRC-TV, a local news station, that the belligerent passenger had tried to pry open the door as the plane descended into metro Washington.
The remaining passengers filed out of the jet on stars in the rear of the plane, according to the MWAA.
