Wheels Up Launches Game Day Shuttle Service

Sept. 8, 2016

For college football fans and alumni, it just got a lot easier this fall to get to the big game—and back home in the same day.

Wheels Up on Sept. 8, announced the launch of its private "Same Day Game Day" shuttle, offering Wheels Up Members the opportunity to purchase seats on flights to and from select top college football games.  The shuttle flights will be scheduled to arrive two hours before kickoff and return one hour after the game ends.  Passenger transportation for the "Same Day Game Day" shuttle flights will be provided by Wheels Up flight partner, Gama Aviation, aboard the Wheels Up King Air 350i.

"The King Air 350i is uniquely positioned to offer shuttle service at the right price, seating eight passengers comfortably. It's the flying SUV," said Wheels Up Founder and CEO Kenny Dichter. "This and the ability to fly into more airports—getting our members closer to the action—make it the ideal aircraft to get our Wheels Up Members and their guests to and from the game in time, and in-style."

The shuttle schedule will kick-off this weekend with Louisville vs. Syracuse (New York to Syracuse) and will be followed by a number of highly anticipated matchups, including:

  • Georgia vs. Ole Miss (Atlanta to Oxford) 9/24
  • Wisconsin vs. Michigan (New York to Ann Arbor) 10/1
  • Tennessee vs. Georgia (Nashville to Athens) 10/1
  • Clemson vs. Florida St. (Atlanta to Tallahassee) 10/29
  • Yale vs. Harvard (New York to Boston) 11/19
  • Michigan vs. Ohio State (New York to Columbus) 11/26

More shuttles will be added to the schedule throughout the season. In addition, Wheels Up Members can propose a "shared flight" to any college football game through the Wheels Up Member App and split the cost of travel with other members traveling to and/or from the game.

"Many of our members are passionate about college football, and maximizing the cost-efficiency of the King Air 350i is a way that we can bring them to the game with like-minded members and fans. We're leveraging the sharing economy to bring people together," Dichter added.
