Midland College: Aviation Technology Program Already Totals 15 Students

Oct. 20, 2022

Oct. 20—The Midland College board of trustees provided updates on its newly reinstated aviation maintenance technology program Tuesday at the board's monthly meeting.

MC President Steve Thomas claimed the program was "coming along."

"We're still doing a lot of recruiting and advertising. The advisory committee has been formed. We're advertising in the Metroplex area," he remarked.

Thomas added that there is an open house on Friday for those interested in the program.

"Again, we're just trying to spotlight the program, get the word out," he said.

Staff members in attendance chimed in and said there are five students already enrolled in the program, eight in "the pipeline" and two ready to enroll, totaling 15 students. The program needs 12 students to commence.

Funding for the program is the next step for the college, according to Thomas.
