Thanks to the many great sponsors and the overall success of last year's Maintenance Event, CABBA can offer a dedicated Maintenance Scholarship in 2017.
Most aircraft maintenance students and/or recent graduates are eligible to apply for four of the six 2017 scholarships (up to nine total awards are available). All aircraft maintenance students are encouraged to apply for any of the scholarships that she or he is eligible for, which could be all four in some cases. The Flight Safety Maintenance Professional Award (valued at $18,000 plus additional travel / lodging allowance) will be awarded to a 2016 or spring 2017 graduate that holds an A&P license.
Mark Quandahl, CABAA Maintenance Chairperson says, “We are delighted to offer for the first time a dedicated maintenance scholarship to one deserving young aircraft maintenance professional. Historically we’ve seen very few aircraft maintenance students apply for these scholarships. It’s our hope that spreading the word on these great awards will result in a greater number of submissions”.
One application requirement for students is to include three Letters of Recommendation. They must come from non-relatives or professors and one must be from an individual currently involved in business aviation.
Preference is given to Chicagoland and Illinois residents and students first, but residents and students of surrounding states are also eligible and highly encouraged to apply.
The deadline for submissions is May 1, 2017 so don’t hesitate.
