Training Exercise to be Held at the Rochester International Airport
Sep. 14—A full-scale training exercise will be held Thursday at the Rochester International Airport Thursday.
The exercise, which is intended to evaluate and strengthen the airport's operational capability and its emergency management system, involves a number of agencies.
The simulated aircraft emergency will bring together local emergency management, airport employees, the Rochester police and fire departments, Mayo Clinic health care systems, Olmsted Medical Center, the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner's Officer, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service.
The exercises are a requirement of the Federal Aviation Administration and all U.S. passenger airports must complete such exercises once every three years.
