After a nationwide and thorough recruitment process led by ACS Firm, the Capital Region Airport Commission / Richmond International Airport (RIC) has selected Ms. Carol-Ann Gaddis as its Director of IT & Innovation.
Carol Gaddis comes to RIC with over sixteen (16) years of professional experience, having worked in both the public education technology sector and airport customer innovation positions. Her career began in 2006 with the Fulton County, Georgia School District as a Media and Instructional Technology Specialist. In this role she evaluated, procured, and implemented initiatives with the objective of engaging students and educators district-wide in the learning process using new technologies and innovative products. The improvements she instituted were instrumental in the district’s overall educational effectiveness and meeting its goals.
After serving with the district, Carol joined the busiest and most efficient airport in the world, Hartsfield – Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) as the Customer Experience Manager. Since 2015 she has evaluated, implemented, and developed new and cutting-edge ways to improve the overall passenger experience while strategically addressing the changing passenger expectations to a more touchless and technology-driven experience.
Carol has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Georgia State University, and a Master of Education degree from the University of West Georgia. She is actively involved in the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and is Vice Chair of the AAAE Diversity Committee, is the Secretary/Treasurer on the Executive Board of the Southeast Chapter of AAAE, and is engaged with other industry associations.
Carol began her role on December 19, 2022. In her role with RIC, she will lead the IT & Innovation division through the execution of RIC’s comprehensive IT Master Plan.
