Airports Council Welcomes Global Goal to Reach Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050

ACI-NA on June 8, welcomed the announcement by ACI-NA’s global organization, ACI World, outlining the airport industry’s aspirational goals aspirational goal to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

“Even while the airport industry continues to respond to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, airports remain laser focused on advancing important priorities that will help create a more sustainable future for air travel,” said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “We applaud the airport industry’s global commitment announced today to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050. To get there, it will take strong support from our government, airline, and other industry partners. We look forward to working collaboratively with our partners on this ambitious initiative to combat the threat of climate change.”
