Flint Bishop Airport Appoints a Longtime-Devoted Law Enforcement Official to Chief of Public Safety Position

Flint Bishop is proud to announce it has named a new Chief of Public Safety who brings decades of exceptional Law Enforcement Experience to the airport. Flint Bishop Police Lieutenant Wayne McIntyre has been promoted to chief of public safety.

“We couldn’t have chosen a more dedicated and passionate Law Enforcement Official to lead our Airport into a new chapter of Public Safety, so we can continue to protect our passengers and Airport community,” said Nino Sapone, airport director.

McIntyre has 32 years of Law Enforcement experience that includes police, fire, and paramedic services. He first graduated from the Police Academy in 1989, and later graduated from both fire and paramedic schools. Chief McIntyre first started at the airport in 1990, while working at the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department. He retired from there in 2009, returning to full-time status at the Airport. He also proudly served our country in the United States Army, with tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

“I am truly honored to be able to continue my career at Flint Bishop in this new role. I look forward to leading both our Police and Fire departments as we work together to better serve the community,” said Chief McIntyre.
