Nice Côte d'Azur to be Connected to Bahrain with Gulf Air Furthering its Responsible Development Policy

Jan. 22, 2020
This expansion in flights from the Mediterranean airport will make use of the latest-generation A321neo, one of the lowest-emission aircraft on the market.

Gulf Air will connect the Bahraini capital to Nice Côte d'Azur, making it the airline's second destination in France after Paris. Outbound and inbound flights will make a one-hour stopover in Milan. Following Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, this is the third Gulf state to launch a scheduled route to the Côte d'Azur, demonstrating the region's attractiveness to a customer base of upmarket leisure travelers.

Gulf Air will charter modern A321neo aircraft, which offer one of the best environmental performances on the market, with up to a 30 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to others in the same category. They feature 166 seats, 150 of which in Economy and 16 in Business.

"This new route symbolizes our strategy to reconcile the expansion of our network, with benefits for the vitality of our region, and environmental protection, by using the most advanced and lowest-emission aircraft," proudly commented Dominique Thillaud, chairman of the board of directors at Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur.
