Scott Ruch Named CEO of Corgan

April 30, 2018

Corgan announced Scott Ruch, executive managing principal and sector leader of the firm’s critical facilities practice, as the new chief executive officer. He is joined by Lindsay Wilson and Steve Hulsey who will serve as presidents in addition to their current roles as sector leaders of the interiors and education studios, respectively. After eight years as President and CEO, Bob Morris will continue with the firm as chairman of the board.

This is the culmination of a three-year strategy that responds to Corgan’s accelerated and anticipated growth as one of the nation’s top five architecture and interior design firms.

“Working together, we’ve seen the firm nearly double in size, opened new offices, and expanded our practices to better serve our notable and diverse client portfolio,” says Ruch. “It’s a natural extension of Corgan’s culture and our goal is to tap into our team’s varied strengths and experiences to best serve our clients and lead Corgan successfully into the future.”

The CEO and presidents will be jointly responsible for the successful operation of the firm; growth strategies and initiatives; and brand, talent and business development.

“This is an intentional move to  a collaborative leadership model that enables the firm’s leadership to remain very engaged in our practice, directly with our teams and with our clients,” says Wilson “The practice of architecture and interior design is changing, and we’re committed to being incredibly agile in the ways we respond to our clients as well as fully invested in the growth and development of our employees.”

In addition to working on notable projects for Apple, Toyota, University of North Texas, Southwest Airlines, Facebook and Frisco ISD, the leadership team has worked together for three years in similar capacities as the firm’s Executive Committee.

“The three of us have shared this responsibility for several years and have developed a strong synergy in the ways we work and our strengths,” says Hulsey.

“It’s a great time for this in our firm,” says Morris. “We just celebrated our 80th anniversary. Our market sectors are healthy and growing. Our leadership bench is deep and our culture remains strong. It’s a great time for the next generation to move us forward. It’s also a great time for me, turning my full attention to special work as Chairman that I will fully enjoy and can bring value to as I do.”
