350 Taxis at Montréal-Trudeau Greet Passengers with 'Bonjour!'

Aug. 23, 2017

Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) held a random draw Aug. 23, for 350 taxi permits to serve Montréal–Trudeau airport. This increase of 50 permits will reduce wait times and meet growing demand. The permits are valid from Nov. 1 to Oct. 31, 2018. A total of 2,500 drivers applied for a permit to operate a taxi at Montréal–Trudeau.

The taxi fleet will include 250 "green"— energy efficient — vehicles and 100 minivans. All vehicles will display the "Bonjour" logo designed by the Bureau du taxi de Montréal, the taxi industry and Tourisme Montréal.

"The airport is the main gateway to Montréal and tourists' first point of contact with the city," said Luc Charbonneau, director, parking and ground transportation, for ADM. "We want this welcome to be a warm one and to reflect Montréal." Beginning November 1, fully 70 percent of the fleet will comprise green vehicles.

The random draw was conducted according to the usual stringent process and under the supervision of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, auditors. The list of recipients will be posted soon on the admtl.com website.
