‘Rowdy’ the Cat Found at Logan Airport After Three-Week Search

July 14, 2022

Wednesday brought some pawsitive news for the owners of a frisky feline that escaped from her kitty kennel at Logan Airport about three weeks ago.

The black cat, appropriately named Rowdy, was found at the airport Wednesday morning after an extensive search that saw everyone from construction workers to airline staff try to locate the missing pet, who took off upon her Lufthansa flight’s arrival on June 24, according to Massport spokesperson Jennifer Mehigan.

“Whether out of fatigue or hunger, we’ll never know, but this morning she finally let herself be caught,” Mehigan said. “Thankfully, Rowdy was found safe and sound, and will be returned to her family.”

Rowdy has been released to the Animal Rescue League of Boston, and will be reunited with her family upon their arrival in the city.

“She looks great, is happy to be with people, and I am sure will be happy to be reunited with us,” the cat’s owner, Patty Nolet Sahli, wrote on Facebook.

Sahli said the couple is moving back to the U.S. after serving with the Army overseas in Germany. The cat was lost when they were flying from Frankfurt to Boston.
