With the parallel taxi track (PTT) at Trivandrum International Airport scheduled for commissioning in January 2018, the Airport Authority of India would soon start work on building four new apron bays.
After the commissioning of PTT, the time occupied by an aircraft on the runway will be shorter and hence more aircrafts can be operated at the airport.
According to airport director George G Tharakan, there is shortage of apron bays during peak hours.
