Fortnite Toy Grenade Found at Boston Logan Airport
A Fortnite toy was discovered and checked during a security screening at Boston Logan International Airport Tuesday.
The toy was a fake grenade known as a “Boogie Bomb” in the video game Fortnite.
When thrown in the video game, the “Boogie Bomb” causes players inside the blast radius to dance for five seconds or until damage is taken.
But officials weren’t dancing Tuesday.
“Replica grenades are not allowed in any travel bag,” said Dan Velez, a spokesperson for the TSA.
Earlier this month, security officers at the airport stopped a man from carrying an assortment of weapons, including throwing stars and daggers, onto a flight, officials said.
Officials have also detected 18 firearms at the Boston airport’s security checkpoint this year. The most recent gun was discovered Aug. 18.
