Longmont Airport Critics Can Petition for Proposed Ballot Initiative
Critics of Longmont’s process of budgeting for Vance Brand Municipal Airport’s annual expenses have received the go-ahead to begin collecting petitions in their effort to place a proposed city charter amendment on November’s election ballot.
City Clerk Dawn Quintana on Friday notified Citizens for Airport Accountability — the organization proposing to impose financial constraints on the City Council and city staff’s future ability to budget for airport operations, maintenance and capital improvements expenses — that the organization’s paperwork meets requirements for proceeding with collecting petition signatures.
