Dubai (dpa) - Flights were briefly disrupted on Sunday at Dubai airport, one of the world's busiest, due to suspected drone activity, authorities said.

Flight arrivals were disrupted for 15 minutes starting from 12:36 pm (0836 GMT) due to the suspected drone sighting, the Dubai airport said.

The disruption resulted in diverting two flights.

The incident is the latest in a string of disruptions at the airport in recent years due to unauthorized drones.

In February, flights at the airport were temporarily halted due to a similar incident.

Dubai, one of the seven emirates composing the United Arab Emirates, is a major business hub in the region.
