Aug. 4--A pair of pilots were reportedly arrested Saturday at Glasgow Airport when they allegedly flunked a breathalyzer test ahead of a flight to Newark.

The two pilots were in police custody and were scheduled to appear before Paisley Sheriff Court in Scotland on Tuesday, the BBC reported.

United Flight 162 was scheduled to lift off for the transatlantic flight Saturday morning but was canceled.

"We hold all of our employees to the highest standards and have a strict, no tolerance policy for alcohol," United said in an emailed statement. "These pilots were immediately removed from service and we are fully cooperating with local authorities. At this time, we are working to get our customers back on their journey as soon as possible."

The alcohol limit for pilots is less than half of the limit for drivers in Scotland, according to the BBC. Two United pilots were arrested and later jailed for topping the alcohol limit before a flight from Glasgow in 2016, also bound for Newark.
