EU Agency Issues Airspace Warning for Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus

Cologne — The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued extensive warnings to airlines regarding Ukrainian, Moldovan and Belarusian airspace.

Landings, take-offs and overflights are prohibited in Ukraine and Moldova. A ban on flights over Belarus remains in place, the agency announced in Cologne on Thursday.

In Russian airspace over Moscow and the Rostov region bordering Ukraine, aircraft operators have been called upon to exercise increased caution because the possible use of medium-range missiles.

After the start of the Russian invasion, several airlines suspended their Ukraine air traffic. Lufthansa, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Air Baltic, Qatar and Turkish Airlines were among those to inform their passengers of flight cancellations.
