Sydney, Australia, July 21, 2015: Thomas Global Systems, a leader in the design, production and support of innovative electronic systems solutions for aerospace and defence applications, is pleased to announce membership with the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA).  The RAAA was formed in 1980 to protect, represent and promote the combined interests of regional aviation throughout Australia and its regional airline members.  Regional aviation is a vital part of the Australian transport infrastructure.

Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Thomas Global Systems’ CEO Angus Hutchinson comments “The RAAA plays a fundamental role in supporting the Australian aviation industry and linking regional communities and remote areas across Australia.”  Hutchinson continues, “We are proud to be part of the RAAA’s member network, working together to promote safer skies and smoother operational practices.”

Thomas Global Systems works with a number of regional airlines in Australia including Regional Express (REX) which recently began taking deliveries of Thomas Global Systems’ new TFD-8601 drop-in LCD replacement upgrade solution for its fleet of SAAB 340 aircraft.  The innovative plug-and-play solution from Thomas Global Systems is designed to replace traditional cockpit CRT primary flight displays on corporate and regional aircraft.  It is designed to drive down maintenance costs and extend cockpit life, allowing operators of regional and business aircraft to get the most out of their existing cockpit.  This new solution offers a flexible platform that can accommodate NextGen capabilities.

The RAAA is a not-for-profit organisation with over 100 members located all over Australia. The association works with the Government, regulatory authority and community to promote the maintenance of a safe and effective aviation industry in Australia.
