Small Plane Crashes in Woods at N.J. Airport, Officials Say
No one was injured when a small airplane crashed into trees in Morris County Sunday afternoon, officials said.
The airplane, a single-engine Piper PA-28, went off the runway after landing at Lincoln Park Airport around 6:30 p.m., police said. Heavy winds caused the pilot, a New Jersey resident, to lose control and veer off the runway, police said.
Both the pilot and passenger were not injured and refused medical attention, police said.
A spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration said the agency was investigating the crash.
