Oklahoma Aerospace Foundation to Host 2025 Girls in Aviation Day Event
Since the launch of Women in Aviation International's Girls in Aviation Day in 2015, the Oklahoma Girls in Aviation Day has grown every year.
On September 20, 2025, the event will host over 500 girls in Hangar 2 at the AAR facility at Will Rogers International Airport’s General Aviation Terminal.
Hosts for this year’s event include:

- AAR Corporation in Oklahoma City

- Oklahoma Aerospace Foundation
- Oklahoma Space Industry Development Authority
- Oklahoma Air and Army National Guard
Girls ages 8 to 18 will be able to explore career and lifestyle possibilities in aviation and aerospace by meeting role models, attending career panels and exploring airplanes and helicopters. The event offers a hands-on approach to spark interest in STEM fields, create networking opportunities and raise awareness about new possibilities.
In addition to educational activities, participants will learn about career paths in areas like:
- Engineering
- Airlines
- Air traffic control
- Military
- Airport planning
The hangar at AAR’s Oklahoma City campus will hold several exhibitors that plan to share their experiences and knowledge. The education area will feature hands-on opportunities to learn about:
- Flight simulators
- STEM kits
- Physics
- Drones
- Airspace
- Aircraft manufacturing
Girls and their families will enjoy a complimentary lunch while connecting with fellow attendees. This fantastic event is free and aims to make a direct impact on communities with limited access to aerospace career opportunities, empowering the next generation of aviators.
