Lufthansa Technik Philippines recently broke ground on a new base maintenance facility designed to support additional widebody MRO services.

The new MRO facility—located at Clark International Airport—will be located on a site that spans 157,000 square meters and will potentially create nearly 1,200 skilled jobs in the area as it begins operations in 2028.

Lufthansa Technik Philippines will now have new workshops for non-destructive testing and a paint shop at the expanded facility, adding more capacity for base maintenance.

As Lufthansa Technik has already been providing MRO services at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport for 25+ years, the company plans to use expertise and processes from those operations to guide the construction and ramp-up of operations at the new site.

With the addition of the Clark facility, Lufthansa Technik Philippines now specializes in MRO for the following aircraft:

• Airbus A330
• Airbus A340
• Airbus A350
• Airbus A380
• Boeing 777
• Boeing 787

CEO of Lufthansa Technik and Chairman of the Board of Lufthansa Technik Philippines Soeren Stark said, “Lufthansa Technik is significantly expanding its footprint across the Asia-Pacific region and around the globe.”
