Bombardier has released an update on its new MRO service center being built at the Al Bateen Executive Airport (AZI), sharing that construction has made great progress.

The structural framework of the hangar and the main building are now underway, with the new facility set to open in 2026.

Key features of the new Abu Dhabi service center include:

  • Nearly 120,000 square feet of overall space
  • 55,000-square-foot hangar
  • Dedicated parts depot

The new MRO facility will provide services like:

  • Scheduled and unscheduled heavy maintenance
  • Aircraft modifications
  • Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support

The facility will accommodate the new Bombardier Global 8000 as well as the entire families of the following aircraft:

  • Learjet
  • Challenger
  • Global

Bombardier anticipates the new facility to create 100 new highly skilled jobs in Abu Dhabi, complementing its Dubai Line Maintenance Station.

This development in Abu Dhabi contributes to Bombardier’s strategy to strengthen its customer support footprint globally and deliver outstanding service. In a similar effort, Bombardier recently unveiled the addition of a state-of-the-art paint shop at its London-Biggin Hill service center.

Bombardier also announced plans earlier in 2025 to expand its service capabilities in the U.S. starting with a new service facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana. These investments showcase Bombardier’s ability to offer comprehensive aftermarket solutions and improve convenience for customers globally.

“Seeing this flagship facility take shape is a powerful symbol of Bombardier’s commitment to delivering world-class maintenance capabilities in the Middle East,” said Paul Sislian, executive vice president, Bombardier Aftermarket Services and Strategy.

Sislian continued, “At Bombardier, our priority is to be our customers’ most trusted ally throughout their aviation journey. We strive to make every service experience seamless, guided by care, convenience, and confidence.”

“This new service center stands as a powerful testament to that commitment—further reinforced by our #1 ranking in product support for two consecutive years,” added Sislian.
