Pratt & Whitney has announced an expansion to its precision parts manufacturing facility located in Niepołomice, Poland, with an investment of $25 million (PLN 95 million).

The Niepołomice facility manufactures complex tubular assemblies for engines used on commercial and military aircraft, with the expansion aiming to mitigate increased demand for engines.

With the expanded parts manufacturing facility slated for a 2028 opening, there will also be 120+ skilled jobs created to support the technical aviation workforce through labor shortages.

Currently, this facility produces precision components for engines like:

• GTF engine (commercial passenger aircraft)
• PW800 engine (business jets)
• F135 engine (F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft)

The investment of $25-million investment is made possible by the Polish government through the Polish Investment Zone Programme. This follows the recently announced $100 million investment in Pratt & Whitney’s facilities in Rzeszow, Poland, to support:

• More production capacity
• Advanced processing capabilities for isothermally forged parts

Pratt & Whitney Niepołomice General Manager Dariusz Stopa said, “Poland plays a vital role as a key hub in Pratt & Whitney's global engine production, a commitment further strengthened by our $125 million investment in facilities this year.”

Stopa continued, “Our employees in Niepołomice manufacture high-precision engine components that support commercial and military aircraft around the world. Growing this team will increase our ability to meet global demand for advanced aircraft engines.”
