Jul. 6—PLYMOUTH — A plane crashed in Plymouth on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The pilot and sole person on board, a Nevada man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Waterbury Hospital, the Plymouth Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.
The FAA said the single-engine Cessna 185 was on its way to Waterbury-Oxford Airport when it plunged into Plymouth at around 1 p.m.
The police department received a call about the plane crash just after 1 p.m. The caller said the aircraft landed in the woods off of Route 262, or South Street, near Camp Mattatuck.
Police, fire and ambulance personnel went to the scene and found the Nevada man suffering from minor injuries. The Plymouth Ambulance Service took the man to Waterbury Hospital for treatment, police said.
FAA records show the plane was registered to the pilot, Charles G. Hutter, who is based out of Carson City, Nev.
