Plane Flips at Robertson Airport in Plainville
A pilot was injured when a plane overturned at Robertson Airport in Plainville late Thursday morning, a town official said.
The single-engine aircraft flipped shortly before 11:40 a.m., when the pilot was behind the controls, said Matthew Daskal, assistant town manager. It’s not clear if the plane was parked or in motion.
The pilot was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries, Daskal said.
“At this time, we can confirm a single engine aircraft overturned in the grass while operating at the airport,” he said in a news release.
The incident is under investigation; the Federal Aviation Administration has been alerted, Daskal said.
The town-owned airport at 62 Johnson Ave. in the northwestern corner of Plainville is the oldest airfield in the state, according to its website.
