WESTON, Wisconsin – Innovative Equipment (IE) announces a new scissor lift that can be easily fitted to a utility vehicle and removed when not in use, thus making the utility vehicle a more versatile machine.
The UTX Scissor Lift is designed to go on the back of an everyday utility vehicle and can put users at a working height of 18-19 feet in less than two minutes. It is manufactured at IE's Wisconsin facility to ANSI 92.3 – 2006 standards and has been tested to perform well above the standard’s requirements.
Since releasing the UTX Scissor Lift, just over a year ago, IE has seen interest from several industries, including airlines and airports.
The UTX can be fitted to any utility vehicle that has a cargo box capacity of 1,000 lbs or more. The system allows users to remove the UTX from the utility vehicle in less than five minutes and store it off the ground without any heavy lifting. Then it can put a box back on in even less time.
An airline that bought several UTX wanted a quick response scissor lift for use on the flight line. One of IE's dealers put it on an electric vehicle so it could be used inside the terminal as well as the flight line.
The UTX can go as fast as the utility vehicle it is attached too and can be used on rough and sloping terrain. Current scissor lifts only have a 3-4 mph travel speed. The UTX can replace both the slab scissor lift and rough terrain scissor lift.
