Case studies and guest lectures planned as part of Aviation Management degree program

Lufthansa Consulting (LCG) and the International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef (IUBH) are stepping up their strong, long-standing collaboration and are now also official cooperation partners. An agreement to this effect was recently signed by both parties at the university campus in Bad Honnef.

“As our aim is to further deepen our successful collaboration and to increase the level of involvement on both sides, an official cooperation was the next logical step,” explains Thomas Niehaus, Associate Partner at Lufthansa Consulting and the company’s contact person for the IUBH. In the past, LCG has been a regular exhibitor at the annual Career Days hosted by the university in Bad Honnef and has introduced the company and the daily work of its consultants to the students. The two cooperation partners have also worked together during round table discussions at the IUBH.

“With Lufthansa Consulting we have one of the leading consulting companies in the aviation industry as a partner with whom we have already established a steady working relationship over many semesters,” said Susanne Dusel, Head of Career Services at IUBH. “Many of our students complete their compulsory internship with Lufthansa Consulting and come away inspired by the experience they have been able to gain there.”

The Aviation Management bachelor’s degree program has been offered at IUBH since 2001. Lufthansa Consulting is viewed by the students as an attractive future employer in the field of aviation management. In turn, the company values this course for its quality and its strong practical slant, which prepares the students ideally for their professional lives. Lufthansa Consulting currently employs four former IUBH graduates; a further four
have been taken on by the company in recent years and are now working for the Lufthansa Group.

As part of the cooperation, specific projects are already planned in the coming months. In the second semester of the Aviation Management degree program Thomas Niehaus will supervise an airline case study and from the 2016 summer semester he will also teach a class. In addition, Lufthansa Consulting will continue to pay regular visits to the campus in order to promote an interactive exchange with the students.
