SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, BRAZIL -- Embraer and the new Nigerian low-cost carrier and VIP charter service provider Dana Airlines Limited signed a contract for two Phenom 100 and one Phenom 300 executive jets. The total value of the agreement, at list price, is US $12.55 million. This order is already included in Embraer's backlog.
"We are very proud of Dana Airlines' choice of the Phenom jets to expand its fleet," says Luis Carlos Affonso, Embraer executive vice president, Executive Jets. "The Phenom 100 and the Phenom 300 will offer passengers great comfort and space for a pleasant travel experience."
The deal was announced at the 2007 Dubai Air Show, November 11-15. The Phenom 100 for the Nigerian company will be configured with four seats and a fully-enclosed lavatory, with the first delivery scheduled for the third quarter of 2011. The Phenom 300 will be configured with seven seats, and delivered in the first quarter of 2012.
"We considered several very light and light jets before going for the Phenom family," says Jacky Hathiramani, CEO and managing director of Dana Airlines Limited. "We placed an emphasis on the performance of the aircraft in hot and high conditions, combined with light weight, which is well adapted for charter operations."
Dana Airlines intends to start operating in the first quarter of 2008, and will become the first Nigerian low-cost carrier. It also plans to begin offering a VIP Charter Service at the same time.
