CHICAGO, IL – Northstar Aerospace, Inc. has completed a capability expansion to add a second turboprop engine test cell at its Turbine Engine Service Group (TESG) in Stroud, Oklahoma.

The new test cell expands TESG's capability to overhaul larger Pratt & Whitney PT6A engines that power fixed wing aircraft used in commuter, corporate, freight and agricultural applications.

TESG is already a major maintenance, repair and overhaul vendor specializing in the overhaul of PT6T turbo-shaft power sections and combining gearboxes in helicopters as well as small and medium-size PT6A turboprop engines used in fixed wing aircraft. The expanded capability is also expected to reduce turn time and ensure on-time delivery for TESG customers, a competitive advantage that provides opportunities for growth.

"TESG serves customers on five continents including across North America. This capability expansion allows TESG to serve existing customers better and to grow the business. Larger PT6A turboprop engines power twenty-nine aircraft models that we have been unable to service until now," said Glenn Hess, President and Chief Executive Officer, Northstar Aerospace, Inc.

The new test cell at TESG was correlated by Pratt & Whitney this month.

Northstar Aerospace Turbine Engine Service Group is authorized by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to repair and overhaul PWC PT6T turbo-shaft power sections and combiner gearboxes and PWC PT6A turboprop engines. It is also an authorized JAA Repair Station, Indonesian DGAC Repair Station and approved vendor for The Boeing Aircraft Company.
