POLK CITY, Fla. (May 31, 2011) - Fantasy of Flight, Central Florida's premier aviation attraction, is helping guests dive into summer vacation with two back-to-back action-packed weekends and a very special offer just for Dads.

On Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11, Fantasy of Flight presents the fifth of its six-part Legends & Legacies Series, "The Pacific War: Power and Pursuit." Throughout the two-day event, the general public will have a rare and historic opportunity to hear firsthand from some of the few living veterans who participated in this portion of World War II, which began Dec. 7, 1941 with the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Pacific War included the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and other large aerial bombing attacks by the United States Army Air Corps.

Symposium speakers include Lt. Col. Doug Canning, who was hand-picked for a mission to take down the number-one top military strategist of the Japanese Imperial forces; Ray Albritton, a radar operator with the Naval Seaplane Squadron; and Bruce Gamble, featured historian in documentaries produced by The History Channel and four-time author.

The Military Collector's Show also takes place June 10-11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring collectibles from the Civil War to the Vietnam War, including medals, insignia and war relics, among other memorabilia. Former Command Pilot and career Air Force officer, Joe Kittinger II, will be available for book signings. Kittinger holds world records for the highest, fastest and longest skydive and for being the first man to make a solo crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in a gas balloon. Admission to the Military Collector's Show is complimentary with Fantasy of Flight admission. Those who wish to attend the show without attending Fantasy of Flight may pay show admission of $6 per person (including tax).

The following weekend, in honor of Father's Day weekend, June 16-19, Fantasy of Flight is offering fathers free admission when accompanied by any paid youth or adult. The offer is not valid with any other offers or discounts.

"There's something for everyone at Fantasy of Flight this June," said Kim Long, General Manager. "Whether you're a history buff, a collector, an aviation enthusiast, a Dad who simply loves planes or a family looking for new ways to spend time together, come and spend a few hours exploring and learning more about America's proud aviation history."

One of the only attractions in the country to bring together legendary American heroes to share their firsthand accounts, Fantasy of Flight is proud to present its newly expanded Legends & Legacies symposium series which invites military and aviation heroes and their families to offer a glimpse of what it was like to be a part of our country's most historic moments.
