Drunk Passenger Hits KLM Pilot

The man flew into a rage after the captain told him he could not take the flight from Schipol airport, in Amsterdam, to Aberdeen because he had drunk too much.

A SOZZLED Scot was yesterday fined pounds 1,000 for attacking an airline pilot.

The 39-year-old thug faces a ban from KLM for his brutal assault.

Police were called and arrested the yob - who cannot be named under Dutch law.

He was charged with assault and fined 1,500 euros (pounds 1,063).

Eyewitness Gary Smith, 38, from Inverness, said: "The guy was well drunk and had tottered up to the plane. The captain looked quite shaken afterwards."

A KLM spokesman said: "We don't tolerate misbehaviour by passengers as safety is very important.

"We can put people on blacklists and ban them."
