Loose Window Causes JetBlue Flight to Stop during Takeoff

April 10, 2007
The crew decided to stop Flight 1224 mid-takeoff because of a possible unsecured window in the plane's cockpit. The plane was accelerating down the runway but had not left the ground.

Passengers on JetBlue's Raleigh-to-Boston flight last night got a jolt when the plane stopped short on the runway after the crew realized a window in the cockpit was possibly ``unsecured.''

``I thought we had hit a plane in front of us,'' said passenger Matthew Cameron, 21. ``It stopped right in its tracks. Everyone kinda slammed forward.''

Jenny Dervin, a spokeswoman for JetBlue, said the crew decided to stop Flight 1224 mid-takeoff because of a possible unsecured window in the plane's cockpit. The plane was accelerating down the runway but had not left the ground.

Dervin said all 95 passengers were given $50 vouchers. No one had complained of injuries.
