Amsterdam, March 23rd, 2018 – SkyTeam Cargo, the global cargo alliance, has announced that its four core products have undergone a rebrand. Operationally the services will remain the same, but effective from today they will operate under a new look and names that better reflect each of the offerings. The refresh sees Equation change to Express, Dimension renamed to General, Variation has become Specialized and Cohesion now operates as Customized.

  • Express is a solution for packages and goods that meet urgent shipment expectations. Global network services are available via interline traffic across SkyTeam Cargo members’ network.
  • General is specifically designed for cargo customers who need reliable air transport services for their shipments. General moves all commodities that do not require special handling. Regardless of the weight of the shipment, customers can expect a consistent and quality service worldwide.
  • Specialized is used for shipping unique items, giving a wide range of options for atypical cargo or high-value products, such as pharmaceuticals, live animals, dangerous goods, perishables or automotive parts.
  • Customized is for regular shipments, offered to selected shippers and forwarders via a tripartite agreement with fixed rates and guaranteed capacity.

“SkyTeam Cargo was established 18 years ago and the four key pillar products have been in place since that time. Operationally they have been and continue to be a success, the new names reflect the services that each provides more accurately. This allows for more flexibility and makes it even easier for our customers to do business with our 12 member airlines,” said Nico van der Linden, SkyTeam’s vice president of Cargo.

In addition to the rebrand SkyTeam Cargo has also launched a new tool which allows customers to plan express shipments across the alliance of 12 members with just a few clicks. The Express Route Finder gives customers the ability to find an interline routing for express goods up to 100 kilos transferring between the SkyTeam Cargo Alliance members.

The new SkyTeam Cargo branding will initially launch across eight members; Aeroflot Cargo, Aerolineas Argentinas Cargo, Aeromexico Cargo, China Airlines Cargo, China Cargo, China Southern Cargo, Czech Airlines Cargo, and Korean Air Cargo. Air France KLM Cargo, Delta Cargo and Alitalia Cargo will implement the new look and names in the second half of 2018.
