Here’s to the Next 30 Years

Dec. 22, 2022
As Ground Support Worldwide concludes its 30th anniversary, the publication remains dedicated to serving the industry moving forward.

We hope you’ve enjoyed celebrating Ground Support Worldwide’s 30th anniversary with us throughout the last 12 months.

The milestone has given us an opportunity to reflect on our publication’s roots. From its origin as GSE Today to its current coverage in Ground Support Worldwide and our multimedia reporting at AviationPros.com, our staff has been dedicated to serving the people that comprise this industry.

As former publisher of GSE Today, Jennifer Prill once said, “we have always approached ground support people as the unsung heroes of the industry.” With that philosophy in mind, it was wonderful to use this column to look back at the previous winners of our Leaders of the Year program and the impact our publication’s founder George Prill had on the industry.

And while having an appreciation for how far the ground support equipment market has come, the aviation industry continues to move forward. So GSE manufacturers and ground handlers must march on and use lessons learned from the past and grow as well. As new generations enter the workforce, companies that are willing to evolve and adopt new technologies and practices are poised for success.

New equipment, outfitted with the latest technology, will continue to enhance efficiencies on the ramp and reduce the industry’s carbon footprint. We know the same devoted people will be working behind the scenes to ensure it meets the high standards required of the ground support community.

Whether performing deicing operations, loading cargo, checking weights and balances or confirming fuel type, the duties carried out by ground ops personnel is crucial to the success and safety of both commercial and general aviation.

Since GSE Today was founded 30 years ago, the goal of this publication has remained steady – to bring compelling, informative coverage of the ground support equipment and ground handling industries and help stakeholders find suppliers to meet their ground support needs.

The staff at Ground Support Worldwide remains dedicated to our expansive coverage of the industry.

Our continuing mission is to offer solutions to the GSE industry through content focused on comprehensive management insight as well as product and service information that improves reliability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of operations for ground support professionals.

What the next 30 years brings is yet to be seen.

But one thing can be certain, our staff will remain an advocate for the men and women in the ground support industry by connecting stakeholders through our publication, online presence and the International GSE Expo.

The best way for us to champion the industry is to stay connected. Our lines of communication are always open. We encourage all of our readers and supporters to reach out to us about the topics that matter most. Help us highlight the people that make a difference in the industry and the innovation engineered into modern GSE.

We are here for you.

On behalf of the entire team at Ground Support Worldwide, we wish you continued success in 2023 and beyond.

Thanks for the last 30 years. We can’t wait to spend many more with all of our colleagues across the industry
