Oman Airport Management Company (OAMC) announced that it has appointed Swissport as its second ground handler at the Muscat International Airport, according to the Oman Observer.

The report states the official announcement was made at an event attended by Yahya bin Said al Jabri, Chairman, Special Economic Zone Authority Duqm (SEZAD) and Chairman, OAMC; Dr Mohammed bin Nasser al Za’abi, Vice-Chairman of the Board and CEO of Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA), Aimen bin Ahmed al Hosni, CEO, OAMC, Abdulla al Jarwani, Chairman, Jarwani Group; Mark Skinner, Senior Vice-President, Swissport Middle East and Africa; Nils Pries Knudsen, CCO, Swissport International and member of Swissport Executive Management and Didlier Steullet, Country Manager Swissport Oman, along with other key officials and representatives from the ministries and airlines and travel conglomerates.

According to the Observer, there has been an 11.8 percent increase in the number of international flights using the Muscat International Airport in the first three months of 2017 compared to last year.
