Azerbaijan Gradually Expanding Air Routes

Dec. 7—Two new air routes between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, both unilateral and bilateral, were launched since Nov. 30 through Dec. 7, Trend reports.

So, according to the press service of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, on December 14-28, once a week on Mondays, charter flights will be carried out intended only for the transportation of passengers who have citizenship or the right to enter Ukraine.

Three charter flights will be operated by Ukraine International Airlines (UIA).

Moreover, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine reported on regular flights in the direction of Zaporizhzhia-Baku-Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv-Baku-Kharkiv. Here, the Ukrainian SkyUp Airlines is appointed as the operator of transportation.

The flights will be carried out twice a week starting from March 28, 2021.

Only passengers who have citizenship or the right to enter the country of destination, as well as those who have been tested negative for coronavirus (COVID-19), will be allowed to fly.

SkyUp Airlines has been carrying out Baku- Kyiv charter flights since November 30. These flights will allow Ukrainian citizens to return to their homeland.

From January through November 2020, the volume of passenger traffic amounted to 537,400 people, which is 76.6 percent less compared to the same period of 2019. — Follow the author on Twitter: agdzhaev
