Delays at Birmingham Airport are possible this weekend as Swissport ground workers served notice of 48-hour strike action.
According to Birmingham Mail, Swissport - which provides approximately 150 ground and baggage crew members at the airport - are planning a two-day strike at airports in the United Kingdom, including at East Midlands as well.
The report stats that staff are members of trade union Unite and are striking over pay following an 84 percent vote in favor of industrial action, which is due to start on Dec. 9.
