Central Flying Service Announces Personnel Changes

David E. Smith has been promoted to Vice President, Parts & Service, and James William “Bill” Woods to Avionics Manager.

Central Flying Service in Little Rock, Arkansas, is pleased to announce the promotion of David E. Smith to Vice President, Parts & Service. David will have overall responsibility for Jet Group activities. This includes the maintenance of on a wide variety of jet corporate and private aircraft such as Hawker, Beechcraft, Citation and Lear. Managers or Directors of the following departments will report directly to David: Avionics, Jet Group, Paint, Interior, Sheet Metal and maintenance sales personnel. David is a 34 year veteran of Central. He has held positions as Parts Manager, Director – Parts and Planning, and Director – Parts. Please help us in congratulating Mr. David Smith to his new post.

Central Flying Service in Little Rock, Arkansas is pleased to announce the promotion of James William “Bill” Woods as Avionics Manager. Bill began his career at Central 35 years ago as an A & P mechanic. He served as a Shop Foreman before taking on the duties of Avionics Manager in 1987. He transferred to the Aircraft Sales Department in 1997. After a brief hiatus with the company starting in 2007, Bill returned in the capacity as a Maintenance Salesman. During his stint as Avionics Manager, Bill saw the need and developed an instrument shop. Bill was very successful as the Avionics Manager. Bill will oversee the overall operation of the Avionics Group. This includes repair installation and servicing of avionics and associated electrical equipment on a wide variety of reciprocating and jet corporate aircraft such as Diamond, Citation 550, Sovereign, Hawker 400, Cirrus, Cessna 400 series, Astra, Beechcraft King Air, Baron and Bonanza. Bill and his team are well versed in the Garmin G1000, Avidyne Entegra, Collins Proline 21 and Honeywell Epic avionics systems. With his added experience in his various sales capacities, Bill is sure to take the avionics business to even greater heights. Please help us in congratulating Mr. Bill Woods to his new post.
