Fort Worth, TX September 18, 2018 – C&S Propeller has successfully improved and expanded their capabilities for the 54H60 Propeller Assembly, found on Lockheed Martin’s C-130 aircraft, in the following areas: Fillet Cut, Cold Roll, Taper Bore Ream, Butt Face Cut, Screw Hole Repair, and Thrust Washer Ring Grind.

Acquisition of these tools from the OEM will allow for more cost-effective repairs and overhauls; as C&S can continue saving the scarcest commodity for the industry, propeller blades, by decreasing scrap rates.

According to C&S Propeller Vice President/General Manager, Robert M. (Buddy) Tobin III, “The addition of FAA approved Fillet Cut & Cold Roll capability at our facility enables us to improve turnaround time and provide a much-needed service to our customers.”

C&S is one of the few independent overhaul facilities to be certified by the FAA, to accomplish this procedure. To ensure all wear and corrosion are correctly removed from the blade’s fillet area, C&S technicians will re-cut the blade fillet and cold roll the fillet area to enhance the blade’s strength.
