International Award Supports Airworthiness Education
The International Federation of Airworthiness has awarded the 2018 Scholarship to: Alvaro Gomez Rodriguez, MSc Student in Aeronautical Engineering, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid
Alvaro is currently studying for an MSc in Aeronautical Engineering, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering (ETSIAE) through the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and is delighted to have been chosen to receive the award.
“I am most pleased to have receive the scholarship and would like to express my gratitude to The International Federation of Airworthiness for this opportunity and the confidence entrusted in my application. The possibility to attend a training course in airworthiness constitutes a remarkable prospect to complement and further my understanding of this key area of aviation, and I am sure the knowledge that I acquire will be of great use for the future of my career.”
Alvaro thanked Dr. Cristina Cuerno-Rejado, Full Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the School of Aerospace Engineering, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (ETSIAE – UPM), who sponsored his application. Cristina a long time supporter of IFA is keen to promote the interest in airworthiness and safety and this award highlights and recognises the ongoing efforts that Cristina and her colleagues at the University have placed on airworthiness.
John Vincent IFA CEO said: “An important part of our work is to help the next generation make their mark in the field of airworthiness. It pleases me greatly to see that we have such a worthy recipient of our award this year”.
Alvaro has chosen to use his scholarship to attend a Cranfield University Airworthiness Fundamentals course which will be held in September 2018.
