Constant Aviation’s Commitment to Women in Aviation International Extends Beyond Women’s History Month

March 28, 2022

Constant Aviation, joined Women in Aviation International (WAI) in advancing women in aviation careers and renewed its commitment to supporting WAI’s work. As the nation’s leading provider of quality maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) and aircraft-on-ground (AOG) services, the company is well-positioned to execute on the goals of Women in Aviation International, helping women to enter and build successful careers in aviation as it continues to build its workforce.

“Supporting each other, learning from each other, and fostering the next generation in aviation is crucial to the advancement of women being represented in the aviation industry,” said Roxy Vaughn, Constant Aviation’s Event Coordinator and a WAI member, who just recently attended the 33rd Annual International WAI Conference. “It was very rewarding to see our recruitment team connect with so many women at the conference and help them navigate their dream of pursuing a career in aviation.”

Constant Aviation is a Corporate Member of WAI and is the exclusive sponsor of its Cleveland chapter, whose region includes Constant’s headquarters and MRO facility at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (ICAO: KCLE). It also is an active participant in the Orlando chapter, home to Constant’s other main facility at Orlando Sanford International Airport (ICAO: KSFB). This year marks one of extraordinary recruitment efforts and offering incentives to a wide range of candidates, which will contribute to advancing more women in aviation at Constant.

WAI Cleveland Chapter President Leah Hetzel said, “The Women in Aviation Cleveland Chapter is thrilled to have Constant Aviation’s support and enthusiasm. Constant truly sees the value in our mission to encourage and promote women in all aviation career fields, and this mutually beneficial partnership has the potential to reach countless local women and girls and educate them on the opportunities, passion and fulfillment they can find in aviation.”

According to a recent story by Aviation International News, the Women in Aviation Advisory Board found that outside of flight attendants, women represent 20 percent or less of most major aviation job categories with less than 3 percent occupying maintenance technician positions. Constant Aviation is actively knocking down the culture barrier by backing WAI’s initiative to encourage women to pursue the industry and create more female aviation role models for young girls.

Added WAI Cleveland Chapter Vice President Jennifer Billock, “Constant Aviation’s dedication to promoting aviation careers for women by reaching into the pool of diverse applicants and creating opportunities in their community shows an acuteness and depth of quality that speaks for itself. The Women in Aviation Cleveland Chapter is very proud to be partners with such an incredible organization.”

Constant Aviation’s involvement includes participating in WAI’s intern scholarship sponsorship program and sponsoring all networking and socializing events. Attending events including Astronomy Night, Girls in Aviation Day, the Distinguished Lecture Series and the Pancake Breakfast with Santa; and providing support at local events including Discover Aviation Day, the Cleveland National Air Show and working with WAI’s collegiate chapters is a highlight for many Constant Aviation employees who serve as mentors and inspire attendees to follow their passion.
