Airborne Training Services (ATS), a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (ATSG), has selected L3Harris Technologies to deliver a Boeing 767-300ER Flat Panel Trainer (FPT) to streamline and improve the cost-effectiveness of its training.
ATS is an FAA-certified Part 142 training facility that provides training for ATSG’s subsidiary airlines – Omni Air, Air Transport International and ABX Air – and offers a range of simulator-based training services to other customers.
The new trainer will be delivered to the ATS Training Center in Wilmington, Ohio in spring 2021, to expand ATS’s mix of training devices across its programs and allow more efficient utilization of its higher-fidelity simulators.
“We are delighted to be working with L3Harris and their best-in-class Flat Panel Trainer. The new device will enhance our training, giving us more flexibility to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our programs,” said Alex Thurmond, manager of flight training at Airborne Training Services.
