Nice Côte d’Azur Strengthens Its Connections with England via a New Route to Birmingham in Summer 2020

March 21, 2019

Nice Côte d’Azur continues to strengthen its network to and from England, with a new route to be operated during summer 2020, by Jet2.com in Birmingham. The company, backed by Jet2CityBreaks, is a great opportunity to attract city breakers.

From May 2020, just before the Monaco Grand Prix, Jet2.com will be offering 3 rotations to or from Birmingham per week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Using B737 aircraft with 189 seats, these are an addition to the 11 existing scheduled rotations from the company’s other British bases (Leeds Bradford, Manchester and London Stansted).

“The opening of the Nice-Birmingham connection by Jet2.com represents a major step forward in the construction of our international network, by providing a new English destination, in addition to the many others we already offer. It helps to make us more attractive to British customers, who are already the platform’s leading foreign market, and also to city breakers, who offer an important growth opportunity for our Territory”, explains Dominique Thillaud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur.

Britain is the largest market for foreign travelers to Nice Côte d'Azur airport, representing 11 percent of our passengers: 55 percent for tourism, 26 percent to visit relatives and 19 percent for business.
