July 19, 2017

JE Dunn Construction is erecting a six-story, cast-in-place concrete parking garage at Nashville International Airport, replacing an existing structure with one that offers greater capacity, functional efficiency and eco-friendly features.

The project will cost $120 million and provide 2,000 parking spaces as well as sensors to let drivers know what spaces are available. A passenger pick-up and drop-off hub for taxis, limos, shuttles and ride-sharing services as well as a significant amount of roadway, utility, and enabling work for future phases.

Among environmental features are an upper level solar array, a rainwater-harvesting system to support landscape irrigation and a green-screen vegetation wall.

The architect of record is Atkins. Project completion is scheduled for fall 2018.

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority announced the project as the first element of a $1.2 billion expansion and improvement plan to accommodate regional growth and the airport’s accelerating passenger increases.
