Luke Anderson has built a reputation as one of aviation finance’s rising professionals, bringing a rare blend of technical precision, strategic insight, and passion for the airline industry. He began his aviation career at Allegiant Airlines in 2023, where he assisted in managing the financial controls of more than $500 million in operating and capital expenditures across 11 departments, including fleet planning and heavy maintenance. His contributions helped guide critical investment strategies, shape workforce planning, and automate processes that saved the airline both time and money. Among his standout accomplishments was redesigning Allegiant’s company-wide depreciation forecast model, covering $200 million annually, which reduced forecast variance to under $200,000. He also led the development of a fully automated P&L variance reporting process that cut more than 20 hours per forecast cycle and provided executives with real-time dashboards for decision-making.
In September 2025, Anderson joined American Airlines as a Fleet Planning Analyst, where he now works on the finance team making strategic decisions around aircraft, lease agreements, and engine programs. The role aligns closely with his interests in aircraft economics, demand forecasting, and sustainability. “I’m a big fan of the economics behind aircraft and looking at demand and route profitability,” he said. “With my current role, I can still get close to the aircraft in my own way.”
A summa cum laude graduate of Santa Clara University with a double major in Finance and Economics, Anderson has already shown an ability to pair financial acumen with innovation and leadership. He has been recognized with the American Airlines Scholarship and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. For him, aviation is more than a career path—it is a dynamic, constantly evolving field where each financial decision helps shape the future of global connectivity.
