Michon L. Mulder Budziszewski brings more than a decade of experience as an environmental leader to her role as Manager of Environmental Systems at the Allegheny County Airport Authority, where she oversees programs at both Pittsburgh International Airport and Allegheny County Airport. She has expanded the Authority’s environmental program, adding new technical areas while leading teams in compliance, sustainability, water systems, and field services. Her work has strengthened the airport’s ability to navigate increasingly complex environmental challenges while maintaining operational excellence.
Her career has spanned both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining the Airport Authority, Budziszewski managed renewable energy projects nationwide, overseeing compliance with federal and state low-carbon fuel standards and building expertise in energy markets and environmental permitting. Today, she applies that breadth of experience to align airport environmental initiatives with long-term strategic planning and capital programs. Her credentials include a B.S. and M.S. in Geology, Envision Sustainability Professional certification, and a water operator license, underscoring her ability to bridge scientific rigor with practical leadership.
Budziszewski is also active nationally, serving as an At-Large Member of the Airports Council International Environmental Affairs Committee and recently being confirmed to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Regional Water Resource Committee. She also lends her expertise to the Allegheny County Technical Advisory Group for the Climate Action Plan.
Grounded in a lifelong respect for nature, she says, “If there was a single encyclopedia volume of environmental work and you opened it to any page, we have done it already, are currently doing it, or will be doing it.” Her commitment to mentoring young professionals—particularly women in STEM—ensures her influence will be felt well beyond her own projects, shaping the next generation of environmental leaders in aviation.
